Random Outbursts

Hello and welcome. Today I  am sharing a fun make using this awesome giraffe. He is one of my favourites at the moment. Was a bit of a cheat really as my pieces were already prepped.

Here's what I used...

PaperArtsy smooth white card 340gsm.
Carabelle studio stamp...Funny Faces.
Deep Red stamp...Random Outbursts
Flower stamp...sorry make unknown. Any would do.
Hello stamp...free from a magazine
Distress oxide ink pad...Worn lipstick,  Seedless Preserves, Salty ocean and Wild honey.
Distress oxide ink pad...Seedless Preserves.
Stampin up ink pad...Rich Razzleberry.
Polychromo pencils.
Posca pen...White
Versamark embossing ink pad.
Embossing powder...White.
Glue.
Ribbon and brads from stash.

Here's what I did...

I began by cutting a piece of smooth white card to 5x8". I laid down the distress oxide inks onto my craft mat and spritzed with water. I swooshed my card through it and dried it. I continued layering up the colours in this way until happy with the look. I then spritzed water into my hand to allow me to flick over some larger drops of water and left that to dry naturally.

Once dry I used a white posca pen to trace round the lighter patches. This was just me playing and doodling one evening and had nothing in mind as to what to make with it so put it to one side. I had also stamped the giraffe and coloured with polychromo pencils for a previous project that I didn't end up needing it for.

I felt my cheeky chap would be good to use on my background so here we are. I glued him in place, stamped some flowers around the edge with the rich razzleberry and stamped my wording with black versafine. I die cut a tag on some matching card and stamped the word hello in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I attached this at the bottom of the tag.

Lastly I blended some distress ink in seedless preserves around the edge to darken it and mounted the card onto a piece of black card before mounting onto white card that I left an inch longer at the top to allow me to round off the corners and punch a hole for the ribbon.

I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

Much love, Bev. xxx

  2. Fantastic blend of colour you've achieved Bev. I love it when I find a left over that can be used on another project, that little raffe was saving himself just for this project as he sits so well on top!!
